Glam Polish Get Otter Here

Today we have another  Glam Polish! I liked this one so much I actually ordered two more from the Under the Sea collection. Get Otter Here is a purple polish with a pink shimmer along with a lot of very fine holo particles as well as some larger light blue holo glitter. Very pretty. I normally am not a huge purple fan but I saw photos of this online and I knew I had to have it. I find some purples to be ugly on my skintone and I'm not exactly sure if it is the ones that are more blue or that are more red that I don't like. I always thought I was fairly balanced with pink and yellow (sometimes pulling more pink sometimes more yellow) but apparently I'm not neutral toned.

ANYWAY, this polish is very cute, the purple and the holo seem to work really well together and makes me feel a little bit like a 10 year old (in a good way)

As you can see the holo in this is really hard to photograph, it seems very noticeable in person but since it isn't a super strong finish it doesn't capture well on camera. I definitely really like the idea behind this whole collection with the holo and the simmer and the contrasting larger holo glitter. Definitely worth checking out.

Since I got to see Echo and the Bunnymen live last week with my parents; here is my favorite Echo and the Bunnymen song (though I do admit Killing Moon is a close second) :-)

Glam Polish I'm Shore You Did

Let's cut to the chase here, you need this polish. NEED IT!

I ordered a few Glam Polishes two weeks ago and I'm loving them, I'm very tempted to go order more!  This polish is just amazing. I never really had a desire to buy a silver holographic polish because my experience with China Glaze FYI ( a tan holo) was that in non sunlight the polish just looked like a boring flat metallic (a matte metallic even). Since I was so disappointed by FYI I never bothered really with holo polishes. I nearly bought that silver Orly put out last year for their holiday collection, but I just couldn't do it. I'm Shore You Did is very different, it has the silver holo base, but it also has different color slightly bigger holo glitter. So even if the lighting you are in isn't very flattering to the holo you at least have a multi color glitter to look at.

On to the photos!

*drools*

Dude's sister got married this past weekend and I wore this to the wedding, it was amazing! Nothing better than staring at your sparkly nails when you are sitting around waiting for people. This has to be the best holographic silver polish in existence, you could probably walk by me right now with a free bottle of Chanel Holographic and I'd prob not give a crap. (maybe that is a slight overstatement?)

But honestly this polish changed my mind about a lot of things. I love the Glam Polish bottles and the brush is nice and I love the longer caps. Sorry for gushing I've just been so happy with the polishes I bought from them and I haven't been really excited about a polish in a while and it just makes me happy.

Now some bonus phone photos!

blurry shot!!

my only outdoor shot!

Sorry that I only managed to get one outdoor photo, it was a dreary weekend. The only reason I got this shot was because I was too lazy to change my polish like I planned so I had an extra day that ended up being sunny. This actually wore really well on me I got a full 4 days which is rare for me, with only a little tipwear, not sure if it was the polish or the two layers of top coat, or perhaps the fact that I used my Butter London Hardware topcoat, I never really noticed a difference before but maybe it really like this polish? I usually use the NYC clear fast dry polish as a top coat because it is cheap and works pretty well for me. I go through so much top coat it doesn't seem worth it to pay 20 bucks for the Butter London one.

Anyway, I hope I made it clear how in love I am with this polish O-O!

I'm posting this as the weather is bothering my sinuses and my brain hurts :-)

China Glaze Rest in Pieces

I think this might be my last Halloween polish?  I definitely think this is my favorite of the Halloween glitters. This one is mostly copper-y orange-y glitters (hexes and bars) with some lighter iridescent/gold/holo bars and some black hexes. It definitely doesn't  pop that well against my background polish. Oh well!

Might have to wear this again with a different base polish because it really doesn't pop as well as it could. Very pretty and definitely a fun polish.

Happy Monday!

China Glaze Boo-gie Down

Back to the Halloween polishes!  Today I have China Glaze Boo-gie Down.
This one is very festive and a nice mix of black, white, gold and orange. It contains big, medium and small hex glitter and some bars as well. I'm wearing it here below with Jessica Champagne Bubbles. This was much prettier than I expected. I'm very tempted to try wearing it alone; Scrangie had a really pretty photo of this (I think all by itself?) a couple years ago, but I'm not sure I could wait for all the layers of topcoat to dry (I mean it must be really rough to wear it without at least 4 layers of top coat).

Onward! To the photos!

Not much else to say about this one other than it is super Halloween-y.  I wish I could just find a nice orange-copper foil that matches the glitter.

I felt this video was appropriate for today, didn't actually see this until about 2005/2006 but it still creeps me out a little bit to this day.

Butter London Dubs

If you've been reading my blog since I started it last year (which is 0.33 people) you might remember me debating about what Butter London polishes to get during last September's Ulta 21 days sale. I told myself I didn't need Dubs because I had a similar textured polish from Icing... welllllll a couple months ago I found Dubs in an Ulta clearance bin, and I couldn't stop myself. I definitely prefer this over Icing's Sandcastles, it is a touch more pink and it comes off less taupey (on my skintone at least)

Last photo is a grocery store phone shot with a layer of Essence let stars rain down on me.  This polish is impossible to photo! It shows up less pink. If you manage to find this in a clearance bin buy it! I love it, I know textures are so 2013 but I think a good texture you can wear whenever. This polish is unusual in that unlike most other Butter London polishes this one doesn't chip majorly and doesn't really need to be changed after 2 days. I'm not sure if the texture finish just wears better or what.

Three of my Glam Polishes came in yesterday and they are soooo pretty (the 4th one is coming from the netherlands because they were out on the Glam Polish website and I had to have it). I can't stand it! I didn't think I had much polish left to be excited about (esp after seeing Chanel Fortissimo in person and realizing how dissapointing it is compared to the promo shot). Two of the Glam Polishes that came in are from the Under the Sea collection and I'm starting to think I might need all of them....

Anyway, I will leave you with another song :-)

Milani Hi-Tech

I do have more Halloween polishes to share, but I'm getting a little side tracked by holo right now.

Milani's 3D holographic collection is now long gone, but is basically my only current source for holo polishes. I had China Glaze FYI but swapped it probably 4 years ago now. Hi-Tech is the most scattered (I believe) of the collection and definitely my favorite. It is a nice muted lime green.

Not sure why the holo always shows up better on phone photos! At least my BB got an update recently and somehow the photo quality appears to have gone up, honestly not even sure if software can make photos better without upgrading the hardware but they seem better to me. (Could just be me being crazy.

This was actually a bad polish for me to wear, because it gave me the idea that maybe I do need some more holographic/prismatic polishes... and well.... that lead me to looking at indie polishes, and I may have bought four Glam Polishes... and two ILNP... (well one pre order). Soooo look forward to some more indie posts (aside from the one I had in January).

So aside from the cheeky purchases the blog should hopefully be busier with Halloween and fall stuff. It always stinks that the most exciting time of the year for polish is always when the days are getting shorter. I mean the fact that it was dark today by 8:30 was insane to me. Wasn't it just light until nearly 10 not that long ago? Anyway...

Hope everyone had a happy Labor Day, only one of the most important holidays (that everyone seems to ignore the meaning of). Take today to be thankful for 8 hour work days! (or I suppose 40 hour weeks depending on your type of work).

ANYWAY going to try not to rant too much about non polish stuff.

Wet n Wild Ghoul Time

So aside from doing a crap job of blogging, I've been getting into the Halloween mood and have been wearing some of my Halloween type polishes (I started this back in mid August so at least now in September it seems a little less crazy).

This polish is called Ghoul Time and is from the Halloween collection Fall 2013.I honestly don't think it is that unique to Wet n Wild, I think it is very similar if not that same as the lime green polish in the Wet n Wild Fergie collection and it is probably very similar to the Saved by the Bell version as well. I'm not normally a neon or a frost/shimmer person, but I love how glowy this polish looks. It also was part of what got me into trying non glass fleck, non glitter, non foil polishes again. Quite thankful for that.

Soooo pretty! I'm not sure what else to say about this polish, it is a standard lime green with a really strong gold shimmer, if you get a chance to find this or one of the similar recycled colors from Wet n Wild it is definitely worth a try. I felt so inspired by this polish I went and bought a couple of China Glaze glitters from previous Halloween collections that I missed in the past. Halloween is by far the best holiday, orange, green, purple and black! Not to mention bats, spiders, witches, and pumpkins!

I wasn't sure what video to post today, and since I don't think I've ever posted a Depeche Mode video it was time to rectify that. I love so many Depeche Mode songs they were my favorite band for a while, this one has the absolute best video I think of any of their songs. Not to mention it is also one of my favorite songs of theirs. Now that I think about it, I might have posted the Pingu version of Martyr, that is a really good song too, and I love the fan video. Regardless, this video needed to be posted :-)
